'Supari' to kill Tiger Shroff! Cops nab man over fake 2 lakh contract claim

In a shocking incident, Mumbai Police arrested a 35-year-old man from Punjab for spreading false information about a supposed death threat to Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. The accused, identified as Manish Kumar Sujinder Singh, had called the police control room claiming a ₹2 lakh 'supari' (contract) was given to kill the actor.

The call, made on Monday, created immediate panic, and Tiger Shroff’s security system was swiftly activated. The accused alleged that a security company named Trig was involved and that he had even received a weapon to carry out the threat. Given the seriousness of the claim, the police launched an urgent investigation.

However, after verifying the information, the authorities found that the entire story was fabricated. Deputy Commissioner of Police (additional charge of Zone-9) Nimit Goyal confirmed that the threat was a "complete hoax" and no real danger to the actor existed.

Following the investigation, the Khar Police registered an FIR against Manish Kumar under Sections 212 (furnishing false information), 217 (giving false information with intent to cause public servant to misuse lawful power to injure another person), and 353(2) (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

This incident comes amidst a spate of similar threatening calls, including previous hoax threats involving actor Salman Khan. Police are continuing their probe to understand the motive behind the false call and whether the accused had any other intentions.

Authorities have urged the public to refrain from misusing emergency services, warning of strict action against those who spread panic through fake information.
